THE UNOFFICIAL GUIDE TO BEING HUMAN PATRICK STEVENSON

Nobody's got it all figured out.

I’m Patrick. I write about the everyday things that quietly get on top of us, and the small things that helped me find a way through.

A work in progress,
just like everyone else.

01 / THE IDEA

The ordinary, difficult bits

The stuff we all go through, but rarely talk about.

Putting things off. Losing focus. Feeling as if everyone else was given a handbook you somehow missed.

These books begin with what happened to me. I look at what I tried, what did not work, and what made a difference. You can take whatever feels useful and leave the rest.

From the middle of real life

The mess is part of the story.

The notebooks, the half-finished plans, the days that needed another try. That is where these stories begin.

A note from Patrick

You do not need to become a different person to begin again.

No grand promise. No perfect system. Just an honest account of what helped me and a little space to work out what might help you.

The books / 02

One real problem.
One honest story.

A simple way in / 03

What you will find inside.

01

What happened

The ordinary moment when I realised something was not working.

02

What I tried

The false starts, the small experiments and the bits I got wrong.

03

What helped

A few things worth sharing, without pretending they will fit everyone.

From the journal / 04

A few thoughts
along the way.

Welcome to the Journal

It can start with something small. A job that keeps moving to tomorrow. A thought that won’t leave you alone. Another coffee made while you…
